Molly and Joseph wanted their invitation suite to reflect their personal styles and would capture the spirit of their elegant wedding venue nestled in Sun Valley, Idaho. We worked with Molly's mother as well because she wanted to do something special for the couple - and we had the best time!
We kept the invitation and reply card simple allowing the illustrations to take center stage. Forest green, lavender, plum and a touch of mustard yellow, a nod to the local mustard seed plant were used to create the watercolor of the iconic Sawtooth Mountains north of Sun Valley. The illustration became the custom envelope liner and the suite was finished with a small tag attached to a forest green ribbon.
Molly and Joseph wanted the wording unexpected without deviating too much from tradition. “Knees Up” was used instead of the traditional “Reception To Follow” and was taken from the song “Knees Up Mother Brown” from the early 1900s meaning a party or a dance.
The envelopes were addressed with forest green ink and thoughtfully selected vintage stamps, many with an Idaho theme. We are delighted with how it all came together, a perfect reflection of Molly, Joseph, Sun Valley and the wedding celebration.
