Venue: First United Methodist Church Santa Barbara | Event Planner: Soleil Events | Calligraphy: Susan Silverberg | Stationery: Honey Paper
Love, weddings, snowflakes and fingerprints - each one is unique and tells its story through shape, song, color and grace. What began with our client's love of blush and roses ended beautifully with a suite that sets the perfect mood for a wedding in one of Santa Barbara's oldest churches. Since it's founding 150 years ago this September, Santa Barbara's First United Methodist Church has weathered many trials from fires to earthquakes to herds of squealing pigs. Rebuilt twice, the walls of the Spanish Renaissance style church tell the story of a remarkable and resilient community.
Our client knew she wanted to incorporate their single initial monogram throughout the wedding. She also wanted to add a touch of femininity to the invitations, incorporating her love of blush tones and roses. After reviewing the wedding style board we received from her event planner, Soleil Events we immediately thought of this soft, romantic suite with delicate envelope monogram. Rich creams compliment the blush and antique gold adding to the overall luxurious feel. The floral liner adds charm and a hint of nostalgia that fits perfectly with the church's 150 year history.
One of our favorite elements is the invitation's unusual envelope with its subtle heirloom rose pattern and the couple's single initial monogram printed on the inside flap. The monogram was the perfect starting point for telling this couple's story. Incorporating it into the stationery adds unity and another layer of symbolism to the celebration - and in this case we felt it really put the invitation over the top.
The suite came together perfectly after Susan Silverberg addressed the milky white envelopes with her gorgeous modern calligraphic script. A few vintage stamps in the corner and these are off to the lucky family and friends of this wonderful couple!
