Greetings

The Giving Ink is an intimate space that blends stationery store, working art studio of Michelle Juliet, and gallery in one space.

The Giving Ink reflects Michelle's personal passion for connecting people through both writing and art.  She wanted to continue offering the stationery selections people have loved, while also creating a space where I could paint, print-make, and share exhibitions with other artists. Inspired by libraries and European salons—where people once gathered to converse, debate, and exchange ideas—this space is a smaller version of a bigger vision I hold for community and creativity.

Michelle Juliet Feldman is an artist residing in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. After three-decades, she returned to fine art in her fifties, bringing with her a wealth of experience and insight. Michelle studied the fundamentals of oil painting through the lens of classical realism, focusing on still life, while cultivating a unique style that showcases her passion for paper, text, and the interplay of light and shadow. She views art as an immersive experience that engages the senses, evoking sight, memory, and emotion.

Her current artwork involves oil on panel, incorporating delicate rice paper and exploring the techniques of dry point engraving. While studying for her BA in Design from UCLA, she fell in love with paper and composition, and opened two stationary stores filled with her original Watercolors, custom maps, and stationery designs. Her education has continued as a student with the Central Coast Art League, studying classic realism under the direction of Mary Kay West. As a cartographer, she has produced 100s of maps that create personal connections to time and place.

She is a mom to two beautiful twins, and dog Honey. Thank you for visiting.

With love and gratitude.
